What your breathing says about you

What Your Breathing Says About You

Geoff Lamden, Mind Body and SpiritNo commentsApril 20, 2015Kara McNabb

Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. Repeat as necessary. Most of us do this our whole lives in some sort of variation. However you find yourself breathing can tell you a good deal about how your life is going.  BREATHE IN, breathe out  Sometimes we take in a lot and don’t release it: built-up stress, too many creative ideas and no production, or a big education with nowhere to share it, for example. Sometimes we take in a little and release too much of it: cooking for others and not eating any of it ourselves, overspending on credit cards, all work and no play.  breathe in, BREATHE OUT

We notice our breath when meditating, doing yoga, singing, maybe while going to sleep.  Breathe  But what if we noticed our breath at all times?  Breathe  This does not mean changing our breath to our perfect way of breathing, which is different for all of us at different times.  breathe  It means being mindful of our breath. Do you breathe in fully? To your stomach or your shoulders?  breathe  Is your in breath or out breath longer?  breathe  Which one is more relaxed feeling? Is there a pause? Between breaths or in the middle of a breath?  Breathe

How we breathe is how we handle situations and how we direct an outcome to a place we desire.  BREATHE  Not breathing out well will get us to a place we wonder how we got to.  breathe If we are not breathing in fully, we may wonder why we don’t have the energy to finish a task or thought.  BREATHE  Our autonomic nervous system will get the job done, but auto pilot can only get us to the destination it is given. If you dream big, then you must breathe in fully.  BrEaThE  If you want to let something go or finish it, then breathe out from your deepest parts.  Breathe

Think about a part of your life, notice your breathing, be patient with yourself.  breathe  Now breathe in a way that would help you with this piece of your life. More in? More out? Less pause? More pause?  breathe  It takes action to make change, and breath is the catalyst that supports us and moves us through. Breath keeps us present, and it is only when we are present that we can know what we truly desire out of our life.

Breathe breathe breathe breathe breathe Breathe Breathe BREATHE
